Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made comprehensive police and traffic arrangements for the peaceful and orderly observance of Devasnana Purnima in the Odisha capital on June 29 (Monday).

A total of seven sections of police force, including women police personnel, have been deployed at the major Jagannath temples—ISKCON Temple, KIIT Jagannath Temple and Sudarshan Darupitha, Balakati.

In addition, officers and staff of all police stations have been deployed at Jagannath temples within their respective jurisdictions. Senior police officers will supervise the arrangements to ensure maintenance of law and order and the safety of devotees.

Special traffic management measures have also been put in place on the Bhubaneswar–Puri route in view of the expected movement of a large number of pilgrims to Puri for Devasnana Purnima ritual of Lord Jagannath. Intensive patrolling by PCRs and police mobiles will be undertaken, and traffic personnel have been deployed at vulnerable locations to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and prevent congestion.

Devotees are requested to cooperate with the police, follow traffic advisories and instructions issued at the venues, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police personnel.
