Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are scheduled to undertake a one-day visit to Odisha on Tuesday.

During their visit, the two are expected to visit the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) facility at Sunabeda in Koraput district and review various ongoing activities.

Singh will review indigenous defence production and lay the foundation stone for new facilities linked to the Shakti engine. The Defence Minister is scheduled to inspect key operational units, engine production lines and maintenance facilities. His visit will also include a review of work related to the Sukhoi-30 MKI engine.

Singh will hold discussions with senior HAL officials and technical experts on expanding production targets and modernising aerospace manufacturing capabilities in line with the Centre’s push for self-reliance in defence production.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will also remain present during the period.

Security personnel have been deployed at key locations across Sunabeda in view of the high-profile visit.
