Bhubaneswar: A man was killed, and his son was critically injured after a bus hit the motorcycle on which they were travelling on Khandagiri overbridge in Bhubaneswar today.

The impact was so severe that the father died on the spot. The son sustained critical injuries in the accident. He was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the deceased's body and launched an investigation into the accident.

The identity of the bus involved in the accident and its driver was yet to be confirmed. Police are examining all aspects of the incident as part of the investigation.
