Bhubaneswar: In an effort to further strengthen the healthcare system in Odisha, the government has sanctioned altogether 152 new posts for medical colleges across the state.
The government has sanctioned 152 new posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident for super specialty departments of the medical colleges, said the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department on Thursday.
The new posts have been sanctioned for Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, SLN Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, PRM Medical College and Hospital at Baripada, Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir, Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore, MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, VIMSAR at Burla in Sambalpur, SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital at Talcher and Shree Jagannath Medical College and Hospital in Puri, added the department.
“The creation of the new posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident in government-run medical college and hospitals in Odisha would strengthen the healthcare system and ensure quality health services to the people,” stated the H&FW Departments.
The state government has appointed as many as 5,197 medical officers and paramedics in Odisha in last two years. Similarly, the government has given its nod for appointment of 5,989 nursing officers, 240 radiographers, 1,108 pharmacists and 380 medical lab technicians in the state, added the department.
