Bhubaneswar: A chopper carrying Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi could not land in the Odisha capital due to nor’wester rain on Monday.
The Chief Minister along with Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling was returning to the capital city in the afternoon after attending some events in Mayurbhanj district.
The chopper was diverted to Puri after it failed to land in the capital city due to the bad weather.
The helicopter carrying the Chief Minister finally landed in a temporary bus stand at Samang in the Holy City. Soon after his landing in the bus stand, the Chief Minister was escorted to a circuit house in Puri, reports said.
“The Chief Minister will return to the capital city by road. The authorities are making the necessary arrangements in this regard,” said a source.
While speaking at a public meeting in Mayurbhanj, the Chief Minister announced the state government’s plan to set up two new medical colleges in Odisha.
According to the Chief Minister, one medical college will come up in Dhenkanal district and another in Bhadrak district.
Moreover, the state government has planned to establish nursing colleges in seven districts and dental colleges in four districts to improve the healthcare education and services in the state, he added.
