Jagatsinghpur: Tension flared near Sana Bazar on the Jagatsinghpur–Jaiepur road on Wednesday after a college student was killed in a road accident, prompting locals to stage a protest.

The deceased has been identified as Truptimayee Sahu, a Plus III student of Gadibrahma Women’s College. She was reportedly riding a bicycle when a car struck her near a road junction.

Following the incident, locals gathered at the spot and blocked the Jagatsinghpur–Jaiepur road, disrupting traffic. Tension continued to prevail at the time of filing this report, with agitated residents demanding strict action.

Police reached the scene, seized the car involved, and launched an investigation into the incident.
