Bhubaneswar: A cook was critically injured after his helper allegedly slit his throat following a drunken argument in Bhubaneswar.

The incident took place at an eatery located on Station Road in Patia, where both the victim and the accused were employed. According to initial reports, the two had consumed alcohol before getting into a heated argument.

The situation escalated after the cook allegedly abused the helper using obscene language. In a fit of rage, the helper attacked him with a sharp weapon, slitting his throat.

The injured cook, identified as Ashish Mohanty from Jagatsinghpur, was first rushed to Capital Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later shifted to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The accused helper, identified as K Lab Rao, has been detained by police and is being questioned in connection with the incident.

Further investigation is underway.
