Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Sanjay Kumar Kispatta, Executive Engineer of Odisha Construction Corporation (OCC) Ltd., in a disproportionate assets case after detecting properties beyond his known sources of income.
Kispatta, who was posted at OCC Ltd. in Bhubaneswar and is currently on deputation to the Lower Suktel Project in Balangir, will be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
According to Vigilance, searches conducted at properties linked to the engineer unearthed assets that he allegedly failed to explain satisfactorily. The seized and detected assets include two multi-storeyed buildings, including an 8,000 sq ft commercial building with 23 rooms and amenities comparable to a three-star hotel.
The agency also found nine high-value plots, bank deposits worth Rs 46.09 lakh, cash of Rs 1.16 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 325.562 grams, silver weighing 1.121 kg, two four-wheelers and other movable assets.
Based on the findings, Odisha Vigilance registered Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 15 of 2026 against Kispatta under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, for possession of disproportionate assets.
The anti-corruption agency said the investigation is continuing to ascertain the full extent of the assets and their sources.
