Bhubaneswar: All schools and Anganwadi centres in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district will remain closed on August 24 (Monday) in view of the extreme heavy rainfall warning issued by the IMD.

The Collector and District Magistrate of Nabarangpur today issued an order in this regard.

As per the order, all Anganwadi centres and schools, both government and private, will remain closed on Monday.

“The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for Nabarangpur on August 24. Besides, several places in the district have been witnessing continuous rainfall for last few days. Thus, the students may face difficulties to reach their schools,” said the order.

To avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of children in mind, the district administration has announced closure of all Anganwadi centres and schools on August 24, it added.

However, the district administration has asked the headmasters, teachers, Anganwadi workers and other staff to remain present in their respective institutions.
