Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped residents of Shree Vihar in Chandrasekharpur after a fire broke out inside the lift of an apartment building on Thursday. 

Two individuals who were trapped inside the smoke-filled lift were successfully rescued by emergency responders.

Short circuit suspected as cause of blaze in Shree Vihar apartment

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at Badshah Apartment, where a suspected short circuit triggered the fire inside the lift. Thick smoke quickly engulfed the confined space, leaving the occupants stranded and in distress.

Upon receiving the alert, fire services personnel rushed to the spot and launched a prompt rescue operation. The firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and safely evacuated both individuals from the lift.

While no casualties have been reported so far, the condition of the rescued persons is yet to be officially confirmed. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed assessment to determine the exact cause of the fire.
