Bhubaneswar: A major controversy has surfaced in the Boudh district police after allegations emerged that a former Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Manamunda police station had links with ganja smugglers and drug mafias.

Boudh Superintendent of Police (SP) has issued a show-cause notice to former Manamunda IIC Susmita Magar over allegations that she helped ganja peddlers and drug mafias evade arrest.

The action was reportedly taken on the basis of WhatsApp chat evidence shared by the Subarnapur SP.

Following the receipt of the evidence, the Boudh SP initiated disciplinary proceedings and sought an explanation from the former police officer through a show-cause notice.
