Govt initiates process for appointment of new OERC chief

The state government has initiated the process for appointment of a new Chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC). The post has been lying vacant following the resignation of Pradeep Kumar Jena on May 25 this year.

Bhubaneswar: The state government has initiated the process for appointment of a new Chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC).

The post of OERC Chairperson has been lying vacant following the resignation of incumbent Pradeep Kumar Jena on May 25 this year. 

Jena, a former Chief Secretary in Odisha, had assumed charge as the OERC chief on April 8, 2025.

In order to fill up the vacancy, the state government has referred the matter to the Selection Committee, constituted by the Energy Department.

The committee has been asked to recommend a panel of two names to the state government for selection of a new Chairperson of OERC.
