Bhadrak: The Block Education Officer (BEO), Chandabali, Bhadrak, has placed a government school headmaster under suspension over allegations that he consumed alcohol during school hours and attended school in an intoxicated condition.

According to an office order issued by the Block Education Office, Chandabali, Headmaster Srinath Das of Binapani Nodal UPS has been suspended with immediate effect pending disciplinary proceedings.

The order states that on June 30, 2026, during official school hours, Das was allegedly found consuming alcohol in a public market. It further alleges that he later attended the school while being intoxicated, amounting to gross misconduct and behaviour unbecoming of a government servant.

During the suspension period, Das will have his headquarters at Balisahi UP School in Chandabali Block. He has been directed not to leave the headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority.

The order also states that he will be entitled to subsistence allowance and other admissible allowances as per the applicable rules during the period of suspension.
