Bhubaneswar: All educational institutions in Odisha’s Cuttack district will remain closed on July 6 (Monday) in view of the heavy rainfall alert issued by the IMD.
Cuttack Collector and District Magistrate Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde issued an order in this regard on Sunday.
“All educational institutions including schools (both government and private), colleges and Anganwadi Centres across Cuttack district will remain closed on July 6,” read the order.
The district administration has also prohibited swimming, bathing and any other recreational or commercial activities in Mahanadi river and all its distributaries till further orders.
The Cuttack Collector has asked the Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to take the necessary steps for implementation of the prohibition order.
Besides, all Inspector in-charges (IICs) of respective police stations have been asked to enforce the prohibition order and prevent the people from visiting the river ghats.
As per the direction of Cuttack Collector, all construction work, both private and public, across the district will remain suspended on July 6.
