Heavy rainfall alert: Schools in 2 Odisha districts to remain shut on July 30

Bhubaneswar: All schools and Anganwadi centres in two districts of Odisha will remain closed on July 30 (Thursday) in the wake of heavy rainfall alert issued by the IMD.

All government as well as private schools and Anganwadi centres in Nabarangpur district will remain shut on Thursday. Nabarangpur Collector Maheswar Swain has issued an order in this regard.

As per the IMD prediction, some places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Koraput may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 30. The MeT Department has issued an Orange warning in this regard.

Besides, heavy rain is likely to lash some places over the districts of Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Malkangiri on July 30.

The administration in Bhadrak district has announced that all Anganwadi centres and government as well as private schools will remain closed on Thursday due to the flood-like situation caused by the incessant rain recently.
