Bhubaneswar: All schools in three districts of Odisha will remain closed on August 17 (Monday) in view of heavy to very heavy rainfall warning issued by the IMD.

The educational institutions in Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar and Baleshwar districts will remain closed on Monday.

The Collectors of the three districts have issued orders in this regard on Sunday.

As per the order issued by the Baleshwar Collector, all schools and colleges, both government and private, in the district will remain closed on August 17.

Any violation in this regard will invite legal action, said the district administration.

As per the IMD prediction, several places in Baleshwar, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall or extremely heavy rainfall on Monday. The MeT Department has issued a Red warning in this regard.

Similarly, some places in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Boudh, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada are likely to witness heavy rainfall on the day.
