Bhubaneswar: Several districts in Odisha may witness heavy rainfall till July 16, said the IMD in its weather report on Sunday.
Besides, rainfall activity across the state is likely to continue till July 19.
As per the IMD prediction, some places across the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada are likely to witness heavy rainfall till July 16. The MeT Department has issued a Yellow warning in this regard.
Moreover, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface winds are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Gajapati and Jagatsinghpur during the next five days.
In addition to this, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places across the state in the next seven days, said the IMD regional centre here on Sunday.
“Several places across Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Puri witnessed rainfall during the last 24 hours,” it added.
