Higher Education Dept issues revised schedule for UG admissions in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of the state government has issued a revised timeline for admissions into the undergraduate (UG) courses in state public universities and government, aided and unaided colleges in Odisha for the academic session 2026-27.

As per the revised schedule, choice filling facility in the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) will be re-opened for all applicants as the state government has introduced free education for students of regular UG and PG courses for the academic session 2026-27.

During the revision, an applicant can provide minimum one or maximum any number of choices.   

Admission fees paid by the applicants admitted to the regular mode courses in eligible institutions during the first round shall be refunded after completion of the Phase-I admission process.

The choice filling options through the SAMS portal (www.samsodisha.gov.in) will remain opened till 11.45 pm on July 12.

The authorities will publish the second selection merit list on July 20. The slide/freeze/float option will be done between July 20 and 23.

The selected students will report to the allotted institutions for admission between July 21 and 23, said the Higher Education Department.

The third and final selection merit list will be published on July 29. The students will report to the allotted institutions for taking admission between July 30 and August 1.

The Higher Education Department will publish the waiting lists on August 4. The admission process will be completed by August 11.

The classes are scheduled to commence on July 27.
