Bhubaneswar: Several districts in Odisha may witness heavy rainfall till August 9, said the IMD in its weather report on Sunday.
As per the IMD prediction, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Jajpur and Cuttack may receive heavy rainfall between August 2 and 9.
The MeT Department has issued a Yellow warning for these districts.
Similarly, several places across the coastal, western, north and south Odisha are likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty surface winds till August 7.
Moreover, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places across the state till August 9, said the IMD regional centre here today.
According to the MeT Department, some places in Jajpur, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Balangir, Balasore, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Angul, Bhadrak and Boudh recorded light to moderate rainfall in last 24 hours.
However, a few places in Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Ganjam received heavy rainfall during the period, said the IMD.
