Bhubaneswar: IPS officer and Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena has tendered his resignation from service citing personal reasons.

"I took the decision to resign after discussing it with my family and friends. The reason for my resignation is personal in nature. I urge everyone to respect my privacy. I consider myself fortunate that I got the opportunity to serve in Odisha in various capacities. I thank the government and the people of Odisha for the opportunity. The people of Odisha are good, and I love to work with them. May the blessings of Lord Jagannath be upon me," said Meena.

Odisha DGP YB Khurania confirmed that Jagmohan Meena has submitted his resignation and it is being examined by the government.

Meena, a 2013 batch IPS officer, submitted his resignation while serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Bhubaneswar. He had taken charge as the Bhubaneswar DCP on February 28, 2025.

Before his posting in the state capital, Meena served as the DCP of Cuttack and as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Angul and Ganjam districts.

Meanwhile, a leading newspaper, quoting sources, reported that if the government accepts his resignation, the 37-year-old IPS officer is likely to move to the private sector. The report said Meena is exploring private-sector opportunities, with speculation that he may join a company owned by a close relative in Rajasthan. However, there has been no official confirmation of these reports from Meena or the government.
