Sundaragada: A dispute over alcohol consumption turned fatal after a man allegedly attacked his younger brother with an axe in Odisha's Sundaragada district on Friday. The incident took place at Nuadihi village under Hemgir police station limits.

According to preliminary information, the younger brother, identified as Kelal Patel, was taking household items to sell them in order to buy liquor. His elder brother, Bedlal Patel, objected to the move, leading to a heated argument between the two.

During the altercation, Bedlal lost his temper and struck Kelal with an axe. The blow proved fatal, and Kelal died on the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, Hemgir police, along with a scientific team, reached the village and began an investigation. The exact circumstances leading to the killing are being probed.

Police are investigating the case, and further details are awaited.
