Jharsuguda: A major fire broke out at a shopping mall building in Sarbahal on the outskirts of Odisha's Jharsuguda town on Wednesday morning.

As per reports, locals first noticed thick smoke billowing from the building and informed the Fire Services. Five firefighting teams were pressed into service to douse the flames. However, despite their efforts, the fire had not been brought under control due to the intensity of the blaze.

Dense smoke inside the three-storey building made firefighting operations extremely challenging. The fire reportedly started from the ground floor before rapidly spreading across the entire building.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, though authorities suspect it may have been triggered by a short circuit.

The extent of property damage has not yet been assessed. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
