Notification for PG admission in Odisha out; check timeline

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department has issued notification for admission into various postgraduate (PG) programmes in universities and colleges in Odisha for 2026-27 academic year.

The admission will be done on the basis of the scores of students in the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2026.

The department had published the final subject-wise merit list of the CPET-2026 on July 24. It issued the complete timeline (schedule) for enrollment of students to PG courses for the academic year 2026-27 on Monday.

As per the schedule, the students can exercise their choice locking from 3 pm on July 27 (Monday) to 11.45 pm on August 2.

The Higher Education Department will publish the first merit list for PG admissions in the state at 4 pm on August 7.

The selected students will report to the allotted institutions for admission between August 8 and 11.

The department will publish the second merit list for PG admission in the state at 4 pm on August 17. The students will report for admission between August 18 and 20.

The classes for PG programmes for the academic year 2026-27 is scheduled to commence on August 21, said the department.

The Higher Education Department will enroll a total of 32,309 students to at least 50 PG programmes in 132 institutions in the state for 2026-27 academic year.
