Bhubaneswar: A 19-year-old Agniveer trainee was reportedly found hanging at INS Chilka in Odisha today.

The deceased has been identified as Kartik Yadav of Bhaumi in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

Yadav had joined training programme at INS Chilka, a Sailor Training Establishment of the Indian Navy, around four months ago.

As per reports, the Agniveer trainee was found hanging at the Barrack no. 7 of INS Chilka.

It is suspected that the newly-recruited Agniveer (Naval personnel) might have ended his life by hanging self. Sources, meanwhile, claimed that he was under severe mental pressure for last few days.

However, the authorities of INS Chilka are yet to reveal details regarding the incident.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s father, the Balugaon police in Khurda district registered an unnatural death case and launched a probe into the incident. The cops also seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
