Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has secured investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore during the two-day roadshow in New Delhi that concluded on Saturday.

The investment proposals have the potential to create 54,135 employment opportunities in the state.

The investment outreach brought together leading investors and industry representatives through high-level one-on-one meetings, sector-focused roundtable discussions and a visit to the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida. The engagements focused on translating industry interest into investments, strengthening manufacturing and value chains, and creating new employment opportunities for the people of Odisha.

CM visited Haier manufacturing facility

On the second day of the roadshow, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida, where he interacted with senior company officials and technicians and reviewed the company’s manufacturing processes and systems.

The visit provided an opportunity to understand advanced manufacturing practices and explore potential opportunities for strengthening Odisha’s manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in electronics, consumer durables, supply chains and ancillary industries.

“Odisha is building an ecosystem where industries can grow, create jobs and build long-term value. Our focus is not only on attracting investment, but also on creating employment, strengthening local supply chains and opening new opportunities for the youth of the state. We want investors to see Odisha as a reliable and long-term partner for growth,” said Majhi.

High-level one-on-one engagements

Following the Haier visit, the Chief Minister held a series of one-on-one meetings with senior industry leaders in Noida, discussing investment opportunities, expansion plans, sector-specific requirements and the support needed to establish and scale businesses in Odisha.

The Chief Minister also participated in focused roundtable discussions with industry representatives across key manufacturing sectors.

The Engineering Goods Manufacturing Roundtable, organised in association with the Indian Industries Association, discussed opportunities for manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, ancillary development and supply-chain integration in Odisha.

The Textile and Apparel Roundtable with Noida industry representatives, organised in association with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, focused on textile and apparel manufacturing, export opportunities, skilled workforce and employment-intensive investments.

The Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable, organised in association with NALCO, explored opportunities to expand aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing, ancillary industries and MSME participation in Odisha.

These high-level discussions provided a direct platform for industry leaders to understand Odisha’s investment ecosystem and for the State Government to understand industry requirements and facilitate future investments.

38 MoUs signed during the roadshow

Odisha attracted total investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore with potential employment generation of 54,135 during the roadshow. As many as 38 MoUs, involving investment worth Rs 64,703 crore, were inked during the two-day outreach programme. These proposals have the potential to create 46,071 jobs in the state.

“Odisha is ready for the Purvodaya. The response from industry during these two days has been very encouraging. We have received investment proposals of around Rs 66,392 crore, with the potential to create 54,135 employment opportunities. This has been a successful investor outreach and reflects the growing confidence of industry in Odisha. Under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of the Double Engine Government, we are committed to taking Odisha’s industrial growth to the next level,” said the Chief Minister.
