Cuttack: The pass percentage in Odisha’s Class X supplementary examination stood at 63.64 per cent this year, while the State Open School Certificate (SOSC) examination recorded a pass percentage of 62.65 per cent, stated the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha while announcing the results today.

A total of 5,760 students appeared for the supplementary examination, of whom 3,666 students successfully cleared the examination.

In the State Open School examination, 8,698 students appeared, while 5,450 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 62.65 per cent.

BSE Odisha President Srikanta Tarai said the Board introduced digital evaluation of answer scripts for the first time for these examinations this year. The technology-driven evaluation process helped complete the assessment within a month and also reduced the manpower requirement involved in conventional evaluation.

The Board said the successful implementation of digital evaluation has encouraged it to expand the system further. From next year, digital evaluation will also be introduced for the regular Class X board examination, marking a major shift towards technology-based assessment in the state.

The adoption of digital evaluation is expected to make the assessment process faster and more streamlined while reducing the dependence on physical handling of answer scripts and manpower.

The Board has also announced students will be able to download their digital certificates from its official website from August 18.
