Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of two devotees who lost their lives during the Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri city on July 16.

Anil Dash of Cuttack and Ashok Subare Raikar of Mumbai died after falling ill due to heavy rush during the mega festival in the Holy city. Majhi has announced ex-gratia compensation for the next of the kin of the two deceases devotees, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Monday.

The compensation amount will be paid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The Chief Minister has expressed grief over the demise of the two devotees, said the CMO.
