Bhubaneswar: In a tough stance against corruption, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has dismissed Dr Patitapaban Barik, former Medical Officer of Gurundia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sundargarh district, from government service.

Dr Barik is currently serving at Gurandi CHC in Gajapati district.

Official sources said, Dr Barik was found guilty of corruption-related charges while serving at Gurundia CHC in Sundargarh district. Following the findings against him, the Chief Minister ordered his dismissal from government service.

The action comes as part of the state government’s stated zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in public administration.

Chief Minister Majhi has directed the administration at all levels to adopt a strict approach against corruption.
