Bhubaneswar: A contractor allegedly went missing after attending a meeting at the residence of former Minister and BJD leader Surendra Singh Bhoi in Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday.
The family members of the contractor, identified as Nimesh Panigrahi, lodged an FIR in this regard with the Saintala police and alleged that he was abducted over business rivalry.
As per the complaint, another contractor, identified as Kapil Agrawal, and his son had allegedly threatened Panigrahi over some business disputes a few days ago.
Agrawal today invited Panigrahi to his house for a discussion to resolve the disputes. However, both sides later went to the residence of the former Minister after they failed to reach an agreement.
According to Panigrahi’s family members, he went missing after attending the meeting at Bhoi’s residence.
“Panigrahi did not return home after attending the meeting at the former Minister’s residence. However, his scooter was found abandoned near Bhoi’s house,” said the victim’s family in the FIR.
The former Minister allegedly threatened the family members of the contractor when they enquired about his whereabouts.
