Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested a person in connection with the alleged illegal mining of minor minerals in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

The arrested has been identified as Ratikanta Rout, the prime accused in the multi-crore mining scam in Dhenkanal.

The ED regional office in the capital city here had summoned Rout for questioning in connection with the mining scam.

Rout was arrested by the ED following his interrogation on Thursday, reports said.

The Dhenkanal police had earlier initiated action against Rout for his alleged involvement in the mining scam.
