Bhubaneswar: An FIR has been lodged against Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Rajya Sabha MP Sulata Deo for her alleged objectionable social media post against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin.

The BJP lodged the FIR with Capital police in Bhubaneswar and sought appropriate action against Deo.

As per the complaint, the BJD Rajya Sabha MP had posted an AI-generated photo of the BJP chief on her social media account in an attempt to tarnish his image.

“The BJD MP posted an AI-generated photo of the BJP chief and claimed that he was holding the National Flag upside down during the Independence Day celebration. She had deliberately posted the AI-generated photo to tarnish the BJP chief’s image,” said the party in its complaint.

The BJD Rajya Sabha MP has misused the AI and violated the Flag Code by posting the morphed photo the BJP chief on social media, alleged the ruling party in Odisha.  

The party has urged the police to register a case against the BJD MP and initiate legal action in this regard.    

It is worth mentioning here that Deo was elected to the Rajya Sabha on a BJD ticket in 2022. The Opposition party appointed her as its deputy leader and chief whip in the Upper House of the Parliament in April this year.
