Bhubaneswar: Classes in all schools in Odisha’s Jajpur district will remain suspended on August 18 (Tuesday) in view of the prevailing flood situation and severe waterlogging.
Jajpur Collector and District Magistrate Ambar Kumar Kar today issued an order in this regard.
As per the order, classes in all government, government aided and private schools, including elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, will remain suspended on August 18 in view of the prevailing flood situation.
The order will also be applicable for Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs) in Jajpur.
However, the schools will remain open for rescue and rehabilitation purpose, said the order.
It is worth mentioning here that vast areas in several North Odisha districts including Bhadrak, Baleshwar and Jajpur were affected by fresh floods triggered by heavy rain in the state.
Around 5 lakh people in six districts of the state were affected by the floods.
