Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has expedited efforts for the development of the proposed international cruise terminal in Puri, aiming to boost maritime tourism and strengthen the state’s tourism infrastructure.

A team led by Principal Secretary of the Commerce and Transport Department, Rajput Naveen Vikas, along with officials from the Tourism Department and Paradip Port Authority, recently visited the proposed project site to review the progress and assess development plans.

During the visit, the Principal Secretary emphasised the need to complete the cruise terminal project within the stipulated timeline and ensure the development work progresses in a planned manner.

The proposed international cruise terminal in Puri is expected to open new avenues for coastal and maritime tourism in Odisha. The project is likely to enhance connectivity, attract more tourists, and provide a major boost to the state’s tourism ecosystem.

The government has highlighted the importance of completing the project in a time-bound manner as part of its vision for a “Developed Odisha” and strengthening tourism-related infrastructure across the state.
