Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed a new Collector for Bhadrak district. The General Administration and Public Grievance Department today issued a notification in this regard.
As per the notification, Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, a 2017-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Collector and District Magistrate of Bhadrak.
Upadhyay was earlier working as the Director, Textiles and Handloom, in Odisha.
The incumbent Collector and District Magistrate of Bhadrak, Dilip Routrai, is scheduled to retire from government service on July 31 (Friday).
“Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, Director, Textiles & Handloom, Odisha is appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Bhadrak, consequent upon the retirement of Dilip Routrai, from government service with effect from July 31,” read the notification.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 (1) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the state government do hereby appoint Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, IAS, as District Magistrate in Bhadrak, said the General Administration Department.
