Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department has asked all government as well as aided schools in Odisha not to collect admission fees from the students.
The department had earlier decided to waive off admission fees in all government and aided secondary as well as higher secondary schools under the ‘Gyanodaya—Shikshya Ru Samruddhi’ scheme of the state government.
“Under the Gyanodaya—Shikshya Ru Samruddhi scheme, no fee shall be collected at the time of admission from the students in all the eligible educational institutions under the S&ME Department,” said departmental Commissioner-cum-Secretary N. Thirumala Nayak in a letter to the Directors of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Educations in Odisha today.
The S&ME Department will soon issue a detailed guideline for the fee waiver scheme, he added.
It is worth mentioning here that the state government has decided to provide free education to the students from KG to PG level in all eligible educational institutions under the Gyanodaya—Shikshya Ru Samruddhi scheme.
