Bhubaneswar: Adopting a strict stance on clearing pending electricity bills of schools, the Odisha Government has directed officials to ensure the dues are settled in seven days.

In a letter to the Block Education Officers (BEOs), the Directorate of Elementary Education, Odisha stated immediate steps must be taken to clear the outstanding electricity bills of primary and upper primary schools.

The government has expressed concern over the delay in payment of dues and has asked authorities to prioritise the issue.

BEOs have been tasked with monitoring the situation closely and ensuring compliance within the stipulated timeline. Any failure to clear the dues within seven days may invite administrative action against the responsible officials.
