Bhubaneswar: The Howrah-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20871) was briefly halted on Wednesday after an iron piece got lodged in the wheel of one of its coaches.
The incident occurred between Bhalulata and Bisra railway stations in Sundargarh district at around 11.30 am, prompting railway officials to stop the train as a precautionary measure.
On being informed, senior officials as well as technicians rushed to spot and inspected the affected wheel and other parts of the train. Following the inspection, the train was cautiously moved to Bisra railway station.
At Bisra, railway workers removed the iron piece stuck in the wheel. After the necessary checks were completed, the Vande Bharat Express was allowed to resume its journey towards Rourkela.
The sudden halt and subsequent inspection caused temporary inconvenience to passengers travelling on the train. However, the train resumed its journey after the obstruction was removed and the safety checks were completed.
