Bhubaneswar: In a bid to promote research and innovation, the Odisha Government on Tuesday invited applications for the Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship 2026-27 under the Mukhyamantri Research and Innovation Programme (MRIP).

According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department, applications have been invited from Ph.D. scholars enrolled in state public universities. Eligible candidates can apply through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must be permanent residents of Odisha and should have registered for their Ph.D. between April 1, 2024, and July 19, 2026, under an approved research guide.

The notification further clarified research scholars who were selected under MRIP-2025 for the fellowship but are not registered on the SAMS portal are not eligible to apply again.

Availability of online CAF on www.samsodishagov.in: 4 PM, July 7, 2026

Last date for online application: 11:45 PM, July 30, 2026

Editing window for submitted CAF: 11 AM to 11:45 PM, July 31, 2026

Submission of applicant data to Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC): 11 AM, August 5, 2026

The department also stated the schedule for document verification of eligible candidates at OSHEC will be announced on the SAMS portal.
