A man and his father-in-law died after they reportedly fell off a moving train in Odisha’s Rayagada district today. The duo fell off Korba-Visakhapatnam Express while returning home from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

Bhubaneswar: A man and his father-in-law died after they reportedly fell off a moving train in Odisha’s Rayagada district today.

The deceased have been identified as Sudam Nayak and his father-in-law Lingaraj Sahu (80) of Kesinga area in Kalahandi district.

Nayak and Sahu reportedly fell off Korba-Visakhapatnam Express while returning home from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

As per reports, Nayak had taken Sahu, a cancer patient, to a hospital at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh for treatment yesterday. The duo reportedly fell off the train during their return journey today.

Nayak’s body was found from the railway track near Rayagada station while that of Sahu was recovered near Dahikhal station in Muniguda block.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized the bodies and sent them for postmortem before launching a probe into the incident.

It is suspected that the Nayak and his father-in-law fell off the train while travelling in the general compartment.
