Balasore: Police have arrested a man from Jamshedpur for allegedly circulating obscene photos and videos of his wife on social media. The accused has also been charged with allegedly forcing his wife to maintain physical relations with other men by threatening to make the visuals viral.

According to reports, the woman was married to Bishwanath Giri of Taladhanada village in Odisha's Balasore district. After marriage, Bishwanath took her to Jamshedpur, where they lived together.

Bishwanath allegedly recorded intimate moments with his wife on his mobile phone without her knowledge. Later, he allegedly pressured her to establish physical relations with other men. When she refused, he reportedly threatened to upload the photos and videos on social media.

Frequent disputes broke out between the couple over the issue, following which she returned to her village. After she left, Bishwanath allegedly created fake Facebook accounts and uploaded the photos and videos.

After learning about the incident, the woman lodged complaints with Baliapal Police and the Balasore Cyber Police. Following an investigation, police arrested the accused from Jamshedpur.

She has further alleged that Bishwanath, along with his associate Vivek Ashank, was running a hotel business in Jamshedpur and was also involved in illegal activities. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
