Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has increased milk prices across the state, raising retail rates by ₹4 per litre. The revised prices have come into effect from May 5.
Under the new pricing structure, toned milk will now cost ₹54 per litre, up from ₹50. Premium milk has been revised from ₹54 to ₹58 per litre. Gold Premium milk will now be sold at ₹60 per litre, compared to the earlier ₹56, while Gold Premium Plus milk has increased from ₹60 to ₹64 per litre.
Half-litre milk packets that earlier cost ₹27 will now be available at ₹29.
The price revision comes days after OMFED announced an increase in procurement rates for milk producers. Farmers will now receive ₹39.05 per litre, up from ₹38.05, with the revised rate effective from May 1, 2026. The move is aimed at boosting the income of nearly three lakh dairy farmers associated with the cooperative. The hike was necessitated due to rising input costs such as cattle feed, fodder, medicines, and maintenance, which have also impacted milk production.
OMFED has also increased prices of several other milk products, the details of which are below:
