Bhubaneswar: Traffic restrictions have been imposed in the Odisha capital for the celebration of its 78th foundation day on April 13.
The Commissionerate Police imposed the traffic restrictions on Sachivalaya Marg and its surrounding areas on April 12 and 13 by virtue of the power conferred under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 and in pursuance of Regulation 36 of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic & Public Order) Regulations, 2008.
As per a public notice issued by the Commissionerate Police, the traffic restrictions will be in force on a stretch of the Sachivalaya Marg (from Rabindra Mandap to Jaydev Bhawan) and the adjoining areas for the rehearsal from 6 am to 9.30 am on April 12.
The traffic curbs will be enforced on the stretch and its surrounding areas for the ceremonial parade/function on the occasion of 78th capital foundation day from 6 am to till completion of the programme on April 13.
According to the Commissionerate Police, the following traffic diversions or restrictions shall be in force on Sachivalaya Marg and its surrounding on the above-mentioned dates.
----Vehicles coming Housing Board Square towards Rabindra Mandap side will be diverted at Keshari talkies Square.
----All vehicular movement from AG Square towards PMG Square is prohibited and vehicles will be diverted at AG Square towards Raj Mahal Square.
----All vehicles coming from Master Canteen side towards PMG Square will be diverted on adjoining lanes before PMG Square.
----No vehicles shall be allowed to proceed towards PMG Square or 120 Battalion Square from Unit-IV Market lane.
----Vehicles coming from 120 Infantry Battalion Square will not be allowed to proceed towards Rabindra Mandap side. They will be diverted towards Power House Square.
----Vehicles coming from Lok Bhawan Square towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at 120 Battalion Square towards Sastrinagar Square.
Violation of the instant order is an offence punishable under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act-2003.
However, these restrictions will not applicable for the vehicles authorized to entre the official buildings including the State Assembly, the State Secretariat and other offices located in the area and vehicles engaged in emergency services, including police, Fire Brigade and ambulances.
