Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer (EE) of the R&B Sub-Division at Dharmagarh and in-charge EE of the R&B Division, Bhawanipatana, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

The arrest came after simultaneous searches were conducted at properties linked to the engineer. During the raids, Vigilance officials reportedly unearthed huge movable and immovable assets, including 83 acres of land spread across 97 plots.

The anti-corruption agency said the assets detected in his possession include five buildings, of which four are multi-storeyed structures, two farmhouses spread over 17 acres, and a market complex comprising eight cabins.

Sabar could not satisfactorily explain the source of the assets found during the searches.

Following the raids, Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 07/2026 was registered against him under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.

Odisha Vigilance said the investigation into the case is continuing.
