Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Forest Ranger of the Kendrapada Forest Range, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The arrest followed simultaneous searches at properties linked to Nayak, during which Vigilance officials unearthed assets that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Odisha Vigilance, the assets detected include two buildings, including a palatial four-storeyed house measuring about 7,038 square feet, six high-value plots, 283 grams of gold, cash worth Rs 2.14 lakh, bank deposits amounting to Rs 76 lakh, and a four-wheeler, among other valuables.
Officials said Nayak failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the assets found during the searches.
Following the raids, Odisha Vigilance registered Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 25/2026 against Nayak under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
