Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania has placed a woman police officer under suspension for gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.

The Odisha Police state headquarters in Cuttack today issued an order in this regard.

The DGP has suspended Inspector Susmita Magar, the former IIC of Manamunda police in Boudh district for gross misconduct and dereliction of duty, with immediate effect, said the order.

The woman police officer will report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Southern Range, Berhampur, during her suspension period, it added.

Earlier, the woman officer had been shifted to the Boudh district police headquarters from Manamunda police station over her alleged links to ganja traffickers.

The Boudh district Superintendent of Police (SP) had also served a show-cause notice on the woman cop.
