Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the Supreme Court’s July 29 directive regarding an animated film on Shree Jagannath, a crucial meeting was held at the State Guest House on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee. The participants deliberated on how to appropriately portray and promote the culture, traditions, and spiritual significance of Shree Jagannath.

Discussions focused on ensuring that any depiction of the deity respects the sanctity and deep-rooted beliefs associated with Shree Jagannath, while also exploring ways to promote Jagannath culture in a sensitive and meaningful manner.

With the matter scheduled for hearing in the High Court on Wednesday, attention is now on the upcoming proceedings. The issue has sparked strong emotional responses among devotees, underscoring its cultural and religious sensitivity.

Expressing hope for an early resolution, the Gajapati Maharaja said a balanced and respectful outcome is expected, keeping in mind the sentiments of millions of devotees.
