Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan today announced the much-awaited Salia Sahi road in the capital city will be opened to the public on April 30.

The Minister further stated the project, which was earlier scheduled for completion by April 15, was delayed due to design modifications aimed at making the road safer and accident-free.

Harichandan informed the changes were incorporated to improve road safety standards before its inauguration.

The road is part of the state government’s broader plan to decongest the capital city. The government has decided to construct 37 such roads, with the Salia Sahi stretch being the first among them.

“The project had been pending for a long time. After our government came to power, we expedited the work to ensure its timely completion,” the minister said.

He also confirmed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the road on April 30.

Earlier in the day, the minister visited the site to review the progress of the project.
