Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha’s Ganjam district, including Taptapani hot spring, have been declared as no-fly zones for the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu starting August 4 (Tuesday).

Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam, Keerthi Vasan V, has issued an order in this regard as part of the foolproof security arrangement for the high-profile visit.

As per the schedule, the President will arrive in Odisha on a three-day on August 3 (Monday). She will inaugurate a private university in Cuttack district the same day.

The visiting dignitary will travel to Berhampur in Ganjam from Bhubaneswar in a train on August 4. She is scheduled to reach Taptapani hot spring under Sanakhemundi block in the district by road.

As part of the security arrangements, the district administration has declared Berhampur Railway Station and its adjoining areas and the entire travel route including Gosaninuagaon, Andhapasara Road, Haridakhandi and Digapahandi road, and Taptapani temple complex as no-fly zones.

Kanwariays barred from entering Nilakantheswar shrine on Monday

The President is scheduled to make a night halt at the Army AD College at Golabandha in Ganjam. The college and its adjoining areas have also been declared as no-fly zones.

As per the order, the operation, flying, launching or use of any unmanned aircraft system (UAS), drone, powered aircraft, microlight aircraft, paraglider, paramotor, hot air balloon, remote controlled flying object or any other aerial platform over the above said areas have been strictly prohibited during the Presidential visit.

Any person found violating the order will face legal action under the relevant Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023, the Aircraft Act-1934, the Aircraft Rules-1937, the Drone Rules-2021 and other applicable laws and regulations.

The administration, meanwhile, prohibited the entry of devotees and Kanwariays to the Nilakantheswar shrine at Taptapani for the visit of the President.

As per the order, the Kanwariays have been barred from entering the temple on August 3 (Monday).
