Bhubaneswar: Police recovered the decomposed skeletal remains of a young man from an abandoned house in the Barang area on Tuesday.

The remains were found hanging from a rope inside the house. The deceased was identified as Padia Nayak of Godisahi village. His father, Tukuna Nayak, identified the skeletal remains as those of his son.

Padia had been missing since July 28. However, it is yet to be established whether he died by suicide or was murdered. No complaint has been filed at the police station in connection with the death so far.

Police have started an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
