Puri: The sacred Snana Jatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will be observed on Monday, June 29, with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) issuing the detailed schedule for the annual festival along with the timings for Ratha Jatra, Bahuda Jatra, and other key rituals.

Snana Jatra, celebrated on the auspicious occasion of Jyestha Purnima, popularly known as Debasnana Purnima, marks one of the most significant festivals in the Jagannath tradition. On this day, the sibling deities are ceremonially brought out to the Snana Mandap in a grand Pahandi procession and bathed with 108 pitchers of sacred water.

Following the ceremonial bath, the deities are believed to fall ill and enter theAnasara period, a two-week ritual seclusion during which they remain away from public view before reappearing for the world-famous Ratha Jatra.

Mangalarpana: 4:30 am
Pahandi: 5:00 am – 7:00 am
Mangalalati: 9:00 am
Jalabije, Puja & Snana: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Chhera Pahanra by Gajapati Maharaja: 3:30 pm
Hati Besha: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Sahanamela: 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Bahuda Pahandi: 11:00 pm – 2:00 am

The annual Ratha Jatra will be celebrated on July 16 (Thursday). After recovering from the Anasara period, the Holy Trinity will embark on their nine-day journey from the Srimandir to the Gundicha Temple aboard their majestic chariots.

Ratha Jatra Schedule (July 16)

Mangalalati: 6:00 am
Ratha Pratistha: 9:00 am
Pahandi: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Chhera Panhara: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Chariot Pulling: 4:00 pm

The Bahuda Jatra, marking the return journey of the deities from Gundicha Temple to the Jagannath Temple, will take place on July 24 (Friday).

Bahuda Jatra Schedule (July 24)

Mangalalati: 4:00 am
Pahandi: 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Chhera Panhara: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Chariot Pulling: 4:00 pm

After Bahuda Jatra, devotees will witness the grand Suna Besa (Golden Attire) on July 25 (Saturday), followed by the Adharapana ritual on July 26 (Sunday).

The annual festivities will conclude with Niladri Bije on July 27 (Monday), when Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will ceremonially re-enter the sanctum sanctorum and return to the Ratna Bedi, marking the end of this year's Ratha Jatra celebrations.
